Stella’s Nursery

I have been meaning to post photos of Stella’s nursery. This whole nursery was a creation of what was in my head, and we all know how those turn out sometimes πŸ˜‰

My inspiration came from my obsession with instagram. At about 4-5 months pregnant I found a picture of some gold and white pillows on a pink couch. HOW BRILLIANT! A pink and gold nursery…. I’ve never seen one before and gold was a perfect color for our soon to be Queen. Also, I knew chevron had to be incorporated. Again, if you know me at all (and was at our wedding) you would KNOW how in love with chevron I am.

So as ideas began flooding my head, I decided we needed a pink wall with gold chevron! Now I must put in a note that I did not paint the chevron wall. Luckily, my best friends husband is in the paint business and is very meticulous. My best friend was having a baby around the same time Stella was due (Fun I know, and not planned at all) and they were wanting to do a chevron wall as well. He asked if he could practice on Stella’s room… ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!? Of course you can. It took him i swear over 6 hours to just lay the dimensions and stencil it out (told you he was meticulous) BUT it turned out PERFECT!

Since then I decided everything in our life needs to be gold. I am still adding to Stella’s nursery every time I see something gold. So I will add pictures as I add more…

Stella’s 2 month!

Well if you all can’t notice it’s a little past two months! We’ve done 2 photo shoots but still haven’t found the time to put them on her blog.

Yesterday seemed to be the perfect day…. But as any other Mom knows, don’t make plans with a baby… They will never go as scheduled!

The day started out with me washing our bedroom sheets for the third time this week. First was my regular washing, second Stella spit up on them, then this morning she peed on them! I know, I know, this ametuer mother should have learned her lesson by how many times Stella’s peed on the couch…. But that’s another conversation. So we got the sheets off threw them in the washer and got a new set of cozy PJ’s to hang out in!

We had our usual morning coffee and oatmeal and sat down to enjoy the Today show. This was looking like a great day!

Well…this is how the rest of the day went. Stella Threw up at my doctors appt… Didn’t have a change of clothes for babe but luckily had a brand new onsie I had purchased at the gap a few days before (but it hadn’t been washed in the all mighty DREFT… So yes, I again was the bad mom who didn’t re-stock the diaper bag with a fresh dreft cleaned outfit and had to put her baby in a oversized, not washed onsie)

So we get home from that fiasco in hopes of a calming afternoon with Dad. I change babies diaper and she seems a little red down there, let me put some diaper rash cream on that to prevent it from getting worse. I always use aquaphor but there was none in site so I grabbed the desitin. BAD IDEA!!! She screamed her head off and I realized it was burning her poor tush! Oh lord get it off as fast as you can without rubbing her skin and turning it more red!!! At this point I don’t know whether to cry or give up! What else could go wrong?

I lay baby down on a towel and leave her naked so her poor tush can dry out and I can blow on it for an hour… Why don’t I clip her nails at the same time? I mean she did just scratch her face the other night. Clip her nails? Or clip a piece of skin and make her bleed. Little bit… At this point I think you all know which one I did. Okay, add it to the LIST of “bad mom” things I’ve done all day!

At least the day ended with babe in my arms and bubu to my side. I am sure every mom has these kind of “days” and I’m sure it won’t be my last…

Enjoy the pictures of Stella’s 2 months…

The many faces of Stella…

The newest thing Stella has started is her constant smiles. As a new Mom, obviously these smiles light up my day. She is especially smiley in the morning. I can’t help but pull out my camera and try and capture each and everyone. Just yesterday morning as she was falling asleep, she let out the cutest laughing attack. It was 5am and my husband had already left for work. I didn’t have anything or anyone to capture that moment with me, but to date it is probably the best moment as a Mom so far! I can’t wait for her to start making those noises “on purpose.” It’s only a matter of time πŸ™‚ In the mean time enjoy her smiles πŸ™‚ These are some of my favorites…

And then of course there are those moments when she’s sleeping on my chest that I just can’t get enough of either!

Stella’s One Month

Yes, that is correct. We celebrate every month of Stella πŸ™‚ It was a beautiful Sunday the day we celebrated Stella’s one month in this world. We spent the morning in church thanking God for our little miracle and learning about the book of Mark. Of course it was hard to concentrate on the actual word, when you’ve got a 4 week old to stare at πŸ˜‰ We did our best though.

We spent the rest of our afternoon having a “photo shoot” and yes I said AFTERNOON because let me tell you, it’s tough being a baby and having a photo shoot. After many beautiful pictures, screaming, and a nap, this is what we captured on Stella’s one month birthday. ENJOY!

Stella’s first nap in her big girl crib….

So I’ve been telling myself for the past couple of weeks that I need to try and put Stella in her crib for a nap. So yesterday was the BIG day. It actually started out looking promising. She had Mr. Bink in her mouth and Mom was right by her side ripping off tags to some of her 0-3 month clothes that would hopefully fit her soon! Side note: as of right now Stella has about 12 outfits that fit her, out of the 70 in her closet, she is still wearing newborn and the only brand that really fits good is Carter’s. But as I rummaged through her closet I got hopeful some might “shrink” in the dryer and fit her soon. Β Another side note: Β I am not wishing my baby to grow, I want her to be my little baby forever πŸ˜‰ PLUS, she has three swimsuits that have not been worn that need to be ASAP before summer is gone. Our hope is to wear them at Sun River during our Labor Day weekend vacation! In the end the nap turned unsuccessful. If Mr. Bink would have stayed in her mouth the whole time and not popped out I swear we would have had success, I can’t tell you how many times I had to keep putting it back in her mouth. Instead I pulled out the camera to document…

What do we do if we can’t take a nap? Well a bath of course!

Happy Tuesday everyone!
